About Rob McKnight

Rob is a 6th-generation Kansan.
He has lived in Johnson County since 1972 and been a property tax-payer in the 20th District since 1978. He is a retired creative director, magazine publisher and marketing consultant.

“I have been involved in this Congressional district - public schools, business and non-profit community organizations - for more than 40 years. I want to use my ‘real-world’ experience to represent my neighbors in Topeka.”

Rob, and his wife, have two adult daughters and a granddaughter in Johnson County.

Rob McKnight announces his candidacy for State Representative, Kansas House District 20

As a long-time resident of the 20th District, I filed for the Legislature to guarantee that the interests  of the district - public schools, senior citizens, families and businesses - would have an experienced voice in Topeka. Although a first-time candidate for the Kansas House, I have been active in the 20th Kansas House District for more than 32 years.

My top three priorities are:

When elected, I will be one of a very small number of legislators who do not accept meals, drinks, trinkets and entertainment from lobbyists and special interest groups. Unlike others in this area, I never want to be recognized as the "Best Fed Legislator."

I am a first-time candidate, but I was recently elected as a precinct committeeman
and am proud to be my party’s nominee for the November 2nd election to be
your next State Representative.

As I like to say … I have been “your neighbor since 1978.”
